Young’s Pubs launch honey-infused beer, Waggle Dance
Marking its 194 years anniversary this September, Young’s Pubs is releasing a limited rerun of its Waggle Dance pale ale.
Available from 18th September, Waggle Dance has been brewed by Head Brewer Simon Perrett at the King Street Brewhouse in Bristol. Made with pale ale and crystal malt, Waggle Dance is then infused with raw honey harvested from bee hives at fellow Young’s pub, the White Bear in Kennington. Blended with hops to add subtle character and balance the bitterness, the end result is a golden ale (4% ABV) with honey and caramel notes.
Named after the dance a bee makes to tell its hive about a source of nectar, the special beer is making its return for a limited time only at 24 select Young’s pubs to celebrate the group’s 194th year.
Simon Perrett, Head Brewer at King Street Brewhouse comments: “Bringing back the honey-based Waggle Dance felt like the perfect way to mark Young’s 194th birthday. Part of the pub group’s brewing heritage, this beer is iconic in its unmistakable sweetness which comes from specialty malt extract and all-natural raw honey.”
Alongside Waggle Dance, Young’s Pubs will be celebrating this milestone anniversary across its pubs with parties and festivities, including a complimentary pint of Young’s available to all its On Tap app users and a charity donation drive to raise funds for children’s rugby charity, Wooden Spoon.
