Colin Davidson Partnership

To mark this significant moment, the hotel has revealed a 7x5 foot artwork named 'The '71', crafted by local artist Colin Davidson. This piece captures the essence of Belfast's history by portraying the bus route Davidson took to school. Upon closer inspection, vibrant red and yellow brushstrokes dominate the canvas, revealing the double-decker bus when viewed from afar. Davidson, renowned for his captivating portraits, has painted notable figures including Queen Elizabeth II, making him the only Northern Irish artist to do so, as well as Ed Sheeran, and others. Davidson's creation evokes heartfelt nostalgia, intertwining memories of growing up in Belfast with the hotel's inauguration in 1971, reflecting on his personal journey and the city's rich heritage.
