Kiosk Spend Up 18% – Lolly CEO Urges Rates Relief For Hospitality

Pre-Budget comment: Peter Moore, CEO and founder, Lolly

“Hospitality has shown remarkable resilience. But resilience isn’t the same as growth, and confidence across the sector remains fragile.

“Operators of every size, from independent cafés to large contract caterers, want to invest in technology that frees staff to focus on customers, improves efficiency and drives revenue. And we’re seeing first-hand the commercial benefits this can deliver.

“For example, our work with Sandpiper, a leading Costa Coffee franchise partner, has seen average transaction spend at self-service kiosks increase by 18% – a tangible example of how technology can improve productivity, customer experience and business performance.

“The challenge isn’t a lack of ambition or willingness to innovate. It’s having the financial headroom and confidence to invest.

“This Budget is an opportunity to change that. Meaningful action on business rates and employment costs would give hospitality businesses greater capacity to invest in technology, improve productivity and drive growth.

“We’d urge the Chancellor to recognise hospitality as an engine of economic growth, not simply a source of revenue.”
