Browns Brasserie & Bar in Glasgow Reopens After Full Remodel
Mitchell & Butler’s premium casual dining brand, Browns Brasserie and Bar, has reopened the doors to its Glasgow site after an extensive remodel. Housed in a 130-year-old former Post Office on George Square, the refurbishment of the two-storey Grade A listed building is part of Brown’s ongoing strategy to upgrade and expand its existing estate.
The redesign blends the historic features of the building with contemporary touches, featuring new velvet banquette seating, warm lighting, marble and brass finishes and integrated mirrors, all matching Browns signature aesthetic. The main centrepiece bar features brass shelving and statement lighting, whilst the decorative wall panelling, feature wallpaper and integrated mirrors have been introduced to provide a consistent visual language across the space.
In addition, the lower ground level has been transformed into a semi-private dining space, with its own bar, accommodating 50 seated. The outside terrace has also been refreshed with new plantings and furniture for alfresco dining.
Dave Lewis, Operations Director comments: “Browns Glasgow is a key city site for us. The investment has given us new interiors that properly reflect the brand’s elevated premium all-day dining positioning. We have taken great care to preserve the character and architectural heritage of the building, while adapting the space to meet the needs of our guests.”
Open from breakfast to dinner, Browns Glasgow’s menus are focused on British seasonal dining and brasserie classics, with the daily brunch, afternoon tea and Sunday roasts also served alongside a variety of vegan and vegetarian options as well as a Coeliac UK accredited gluten-free menu. The drinks list includes contemporary, classic and champagne cocktails, a curated wine and beer list, plus premium no- and low-alcohol options.
Browns currently operate 28 restaurants across the UK including London, Bath, Birmingham, Bristol, Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool, Sheffield and Edinburgh.
