The Derby London City to open its doors in February 2026

Where heritage meets contemporary style, in the heart of the Square Mile

London’s hospitality scene is poised for a bold new chapter with the arrival of The Derby London City, Curio Collection by Hilton, opening February 2026. Owned and operated by Dominus, this landmark hotel introduces a refined fusion of British charm and contemporary flair to the heart of the capital’s historic financial district.

Inspired by the timeless silhouette of the bowler hat, affectionately known as a “Derby”, the hotel pays homage to the elegance, ambition, and craftsmanship that shaped London into a global powerhouse.

With 234 contemporary designed rooms, including 15 signature suites offering panoramic views of the City skyline, The Derby is a sophisticated sanctuary for both business and leisure travellers.

Perfectly positioned on Great Tower Street, just moments from the Tower of London, St Paul’s Cathedral, and eight tube stations, The Derby London City offers guests effortless access to London’s rich heritage and vibrant modernity.

Set within a reimagined City landmark, the hotel is a tribute to the area’s storied banking legacy brought to life through contemporary design and elevated service.  Interiors, curated in collaboration with the globally renowned design studio AvroKO, reflect a seamless blend of heritage and innovation, with every detail crafted to evoke a sense of timeless sophistication.

Matt Williams, Director of Hotels, “The opening of The Derby London City, Curio Collection by Hilton marks an exciting new chapter for Dominus Hospitality. It represents our ambitious growth strategy and our commitment to delivering best-in-class experiences for our guests. Our vision was to create a destination that not only honours the City’s rich heritage but also reflects the energy and elegance of modern London. From its design to its service, The Derby London City is a celebration of craftsmanship, character, and connection — and we are proud to welcome this exciting new hotel to our award-winning portfolio”.

Guests will be greeted by The Treasury Wall, a bespoke installation that nods to the financial history of the district. At 5:10pm daily, The Derby will host The Golden Hour, a spirited ritual named after its address (5 - 10 Great Tower Street), featuring a signature cocktail that celebrates the character of the day.

At the heart of the hotel is Rycrofte’s, a bold new dining destination inspired by Sir John Rycrofte, Sergeant of the Larder to Henry VII and Henry VIII. Overlooking the enchanting St Dunstan in the East Church Garden, Rycrofte’s reimagines classic British cuisine with inventive flair and seasonal ingredients.

Guests can also enjoy private dining and boardroom-style meeting spaces for 10 - 20 delegates, complete with cutting-edge technology and a central location in the heart of London’s Square Mile.

Additional amenities include a 24-hour gym and curated experiences such as Mercer’s Market, a monthly celebration of local artists and artisans, honouring the legacy of Sir Robert Tate and London’s vibrant trade scene.
